Task solving planning

This feature enables the automated and intelligent distribution of estimated task time into the available capacities of selected assignees. The Capacity Planning dialog box appears after clicking the "+" icon next to a specific task in the planning view and selecting the users to whom the work should be assigned.

Operating Principle for a Single User

When planning a task for one team member, the system proceeds as follows:

• Slot Search: The application searches the user's calendar for free time slots that match the set minimum duration of continuous work.

• Time Shift: If a user exhausts their available capacity for a given day, the scheduler automatically continues searching for free space in the following workdays.

• Minimum Duration: The task is only placed into blocks that are equal to or longer than the specified limit; the system skips shorter free intervals during planning.

Planning for Multiple Users (Alternating Strategy)

If you select more than one user for a task, the system uses a day-by-day alternating strategy to ensure balanced involvement of all selected assignees:

• Daily Alternation: The system first searches for available capacity for the first day for the first user and then for the second user.

• Iterative Process: This process repeats day by day (first assignee, then second, and so on) until the entire estimated time of the task is scheduled.

Setting Planning Parameters

In the dialog box, you can define the following before confirmation:

• Amount of time to schedule: The total number of hours to be distributed among the assignees.

• Minimum duration of continuous work: The shortest allowable time block that can be assigned to a user (e.g., 01:00 h).

Planned Time Logic

When opening the dialog, the system primarily draws from the "Planned Time", which is displayed on the right edge of the task list or in the left panel of the task details:

• Automatic Calculation: The application primarily attempts to schedule all remaining time that has not yet been allocated from the total task estimate.

• Manual Entry: If the planned time for a task is set to 0, or if the entire time estimate has already been allocated (scheduled), the system will prompt you to manually enter the number of hours you wish to distribute.
