Workspace rules

Rules are used to automate some of the tasks within a project task. We can set:

  • Solver rule - this rule allows automatic assignment of a solver or a group of solvers according to defined conditions. in the settings of this rule we can also find:
    • Setting the state of the task or the phase of the solution at which the rule is to be executed,
    • Setting who should become a solver,
    • Rule application settings - in which direction to apply the rule when switching the task state and when not to apply the rule. Additionally, it is possible to invoke the application of this rule even if one of the attributes is changed. It is also possible to set additional conditions in the rule when the rule should and should not be applied.
  • Comment rule - this rule allows automatic comment generation based on defined conditions. In this rule we set again the task state or the phase of the task solution at which the comment should be generated. So from this we can constrain whether the comment should be generated when the phase changes to the next or previous one. We can define who will be the author of the comment, whether the author of the comment will be the one who changed the task state or the solution phase or it should always be a specific user whom we define in this setting. At the end we find a field where we enter the text of the comment to be generated. Just like the solver rule, the comment rule also contains a setting where additional conditions can be defined for the comment to be generated.

The rules for automatic solver and comment selection do not apply in the following cases:

  • The phase is activated by cancelling the "Waiting for response" status (by pressing the "Cancel waiting for reaction" option in the menu of this button).
  • The phase is activated by cancelling the "Suspended" status (by pressing the " Unsuspend" option in the menu of this button).
  • The phase is activated by rejecting the "Request for Closure" status (by pressing the "Decline Closure" button).
  • The phase is activated by rejecting the "Cancel Request" status (by pressing the ""Decline cancellation" button).
