Task Date Changes and Approval Requests

In the ALITEO application, the management and modification of date data (Start Date and Due Date) are governed by the hierarchy of project and workspace settings.

Settings Hierarchy: Gantt vs. Workspace

The method of modifying dates depends on whether Gantt diagram planning is active in the project:

Project with Gantt Enabled

Gantt settings have the highest priority and completely override the general workspace rights settings.

• The Gantt Manager is the only person responsible for managing date data and making direct changes to the timeline.
• All other users cannot modify dates directly and can only propose changes.

Project with Gantt Disabled

If the project does not use the Gantt diagram, the rules for changing dates are governed by the general workspace rights settings (or team settings). Depending on this configuration, dates can be changed by anyone, only the owner, or by anyone with subsequent approval from the task owner.

Creating a Date Change Request

In projects with Gantt enabled, regular project members create their proposals to change the start date or due date directly in the details of the specific task. After submitting the proposal, the Gantt Manager receives a notification about the created request, which is pending their review.

Approving Requests in Gantt

The Gantt Manager can process these requests directly in the Gantt diagram view in two ways:

1. Hovering over the task
   When hovering the cursor over a task with a proposed change, a detailed window appears with the following information and options:
   • Name of the user proposing the change.
   • The original date and the proposed new date.
   • A toggle to automatically recalculate the end date (while keeping the original task duration).
   • An Accept button to approve and apply the date to the task.
   • A Decline button to reject the proposal.
2. List in the "Date Requests" toolbar
   In the upper right section of the Gantt diagram toolbar, there is a "Date Requests" button that displays the number of pending proposals.

• • Clicking the button opens a list of all current date change requests in the project.
  • Clicking on a specific item in the list automatically scrolls the Gantt diagram view directly to the affected task, where the planner can review and approve the date.
