Subteams

The Subteam is seen as a separate part of the team that needs its own space to function. By this space we mean its own meetings, tasks to respond to, and essentially a separate team that can be assigned to a parent team to which the subteam belongs.

You define subteam members in the same way as team members. The subteam settings are also identical to those of regular teams, with one exception - a subteam cannot have its own "Subteams" tab (i.e., it cannot contain additional subteams).

Permissions and approval

Only a user who is the administrator of the team being attached and has access to the parent team can attach a team as a sub-team.

  • If you are the administrator of both the team being attached and the parent team, the sub-team is attached immediately.
  • If you are the administrator of the team being attached but not the administrator of the parent team, you can only propose the attachment. The proposal will be sent to the parent team's administrator, and the sub-team will become part of the parent team only after it is approved.
