Project members are users of the company who are involved in the project in some way. Project members need to be added by looking them up and selecting them in this menu. To search for users, we can use the menu at the top of the screen, which will allow us to more quickly find a certain group of users or a specific user that we want to add to the project.
It is also possible to add entire User groups to the project, which are defined in the company settings. If such a group is a member of a project or several projects, it is enough to add a new member to such a group and thus automatically get the right to be a member of all projects in which the user group is a member.
In this tab, we add company users to the project members and set various permissions for them.
Types of members of the project:
- Internal - this is a paid user (the company's type is internal or external with licensing) who can see both internal and public evidences, or objects (tasks, comments, to-do's, etc.) with privacy set to "internal" and/or "public",
- External - this is a user who only has access to objects (tasks, comments, etc) with public privacy. In order to be external, a project member must have the user type set to External within the company (independent of the "Licensed as Internal" option).
Rights of project members:
- Project administrator - the user has the highest available right of settings within the project. The user recognizes this by seeing a gear icon called "Settings" in the top right corner of the project detail header. This right is only possible for an internal member of the project,
- Supervisor of project tasks - This right allows the user to see all project tasks regardless of the task followers, but with respect to the user type (internal/external). There are 2 options for setting this right:
- Read only permission - the user does not have the ability to make changes to the tasks they are entitled to only through this permission,
- Write and read permission - the user has the right to both read and edit the tasks to which they are entitled through this right
- Supervisor of management tools - the Supervisor of management tools has the right to all management tasks, meetings and project documents,
- Management team - the user has tools available to manage the team (similar to an internal one), but the content is governed by privacy i.e. they only have the right to see public objects.,
- Can add workgroups - user can add workgroups within a project.
The rights of an external member of the project are also dependent on the settings in the workspace, where it is possible to narrowly specify which data is available for the external user to read, modify or which is not available to the external user at all.
User group - if the project member is a user group, this is an exception in which we do not define the type of project member but it is taken from the type of user in the company and the rights are evaluated accordingly.
