Project members are the users of the company who participate in the project. To add them, search for them and select them in this menu. You can use the search box at the top of the screen to find specific users or groups more quickly.
You can also add entire user groups to a project , which are defined in the company settings. If the group is a member of one or more projects, just add the new user to this group and he will automatically get the rights of a member of all related projects.
Project member type
Within a project, users can hold different types, i.e. positions that differentiate the work of the project:
- Internal - In order to set the user type to"Internal", a license must be paid for. In other words, it must also be either of type"Internal" or"External - Licensed as internal" in the company settings. Then it has rights to objects (tasks, comments, attachments, etc.) whose privacy is either internal or public.
- External - This is a user who only has access to objects (tasks, comments, attachments, etc.) with public privacy. To be a member of the project as an external, the user type must be set to "External" within the company (regardless of whether "Licensed as Internal" is selected ).
Project member rights
In the project member settings, it is possible to assign certain permissions to a project member:
- Administrator - the user has the highest setting permissions available within the project. The user knows this by seeing a gear icon called "Settings" in the top right corner of the project detail header. This right is only possible for an internal member of the project.
- Supervisor - this permission allows the user to see all project tasks regardless of the task tracker, but with respect to the user type (internal/external). The supervisor does not have permission to edit project members. There are 2 options for setting this permission:
- Read Only Permission - the user is not able to make changes to tasks that they only have access to through this permission,
- Write and Read Permission - the user has the right to read and edit tasks that they have access to through this permission.
- Capacity scheduler - this permission allows the user to schedule capacities within a given project, i.e. it allows scheduling for all tasks in a given project.
- Can add sub-teams - The user can add sub-teams within a project. Subsequent manipulation of the sub-team (connecting/disconnecting from the parent project) is available only for project administrators with active "Can create teams" permission, which can be activated in the company settings in the Members tab and then Rights Settings.
The rights of an external project member are also dependent on the settings in the workspace, where you can narrowly specify which data is read-only or also editable for the external user, or which is not available to the external user at all.
User group
If the project member is a user group, this is an exception - the project member type and its rights are not defined, they are taken from the user type and rights in the company settings.
